Running the standard 1.1 box on mine and feel it's holding the car back a little,what other options are out there other than the punto sporting 6 speed? I'd ideally like to stay with a 5 speed :) The Sportings were powered by either the 1.6 8v MPi unit or later models were powered by the lighter 1.2 16v MPi. Due to differences that may exist between the mk2 1.4 16v and the engine mountings of your car, some custom fabrication may be necessary. If this is the case, it is likely to be expensive. Perhaps you did mean the 1.2 16v unit. i still never been in a 16v mk1 punto but i can tell you the engine in a cento makes a pretty quick car, i suspect the panda is even lighter so you should have a right wee beastie :thumb: anyone know what the performance is like on ne of these cars??anyone got the bhp 0-60 times??and are they 8v or 16v?or can u get both? sh The gear selection process is the same for the 1.8 16v and 1.9JTD which is to engage reverse you simply pull to the right and down. In the 1.2 8v (5 speed), 1.2 16v (5 and 6 speed) and 1.9D (5 speed) you slot over to the right, lift a collar under the top of the gearknob and select reverse.
